Cypress Bay High School Band Parents Associations, Inc.

Volunteers Make a Difference

The CBBPA is a non-profit corporation, created for parents to encourage, assist, promote growth and support to the Band Instrumental and Color-Guard Visual Programs accredited at Cypress Bay High School. To develop and promote after-school educational programs to sponsor, compliment, and further advance the High School Band students, and support the efforts and direction of the Cypress Bay High School Band Director.

Who We Are

CBBPA remains a group of parent volunteers who commit to support the Band Director and the students with logistics and fundraising solutions. They always need additional support, especially during the Marching Season and all special events. There are many different opportunities to help, either from home, during the school week or during weekend events. Please refer to the parent section to see how you can get your volunteer status and be ready to help, for an hour or more!

CBBPA also takes parents’ trust very seriously. When it comes to the money you pay for FairShare or any other expense, we make sure to handle it in the most reliable way – the funds are only used to benefit the Sound of Thunder program.

Broward County Public Schools has a quick way to register as a Level 1 Volunteer. Click below to sign-up!

Board Members

Our Board includes 7 to 13 elected positions all fulfilled by BCPS-cleared parent volunteers who meet every month with the Band Director to elaborate, vote and implement the budgets that are needed for our different seasons (marching season, concert & jazz season, winterguard & percussion seasons). The implementation requires many more parents to volunteer and help with all aspects of fundraising, logistics and chaperoning.

Our Process

To make sure our efforts function for the organization, we use the following tools for program planning & budgeting.

BoosterHub is our main emailing tool, but also a convenient way for you to pay online, from home, instead of checks or cash. For more information, visit our  Parent Information Page!

Our Treasurer is well versed in QuickBooks, which tracks every little transaction all year long.

Our QuickBooks database is reviewed every year in July by an independent accountant to certify our accounts and send our tax return.
