Winter Guard - JV
Junior Varsity is the lower level of winter guard and is made up of both experienced and non-experienced spinners from grades 7-12. The team is decided during tryouts in November-December and competes in the SFWGA circuit. JV is great for building the skills and techniques required to advance in Color Guard, as well as putting together an extremely fun show! Currently, the team competes in class Scholastic AA. Practices run through 3:30-5:30 every Tuesday and Thursday under the direction of Clement Vassel, Erick Cisneros, and Luis Jaramillo. The 2024 season is complete! Stay tuned for 2025!
The 2024 Junior Varsity Winter Guard Theme has been released! Our show will be centered around: Predatory Wasp
Winter Guard is a fun-filled and exciting part of Color Guard that takes place during the Winter and is focused entirely on Guard (acrobatics, dance, flag, rifle, sabre). This season is open to students in grades 7-12, and serves as a great introduction to Color Guard for first years while allowing them to establish long lasting relationships with fellow Winter Guard members. The Winter Guard season culminates with a performance at the University of Miami after multiple performances at various schools in South Florida.
In the 2023-2024 school year, the JV Winter Guard performed the show “Predatory Wasp” various times at multiple competitions. At the last performance, they earned a score of 73.2, placing 4th in the SFWGA Championships in Scholastic Regional AA on 4/6/24 at the University of Miami!!! This show was made possible thanks to all the amazing sponsors and the wonderful coaches!
